Gayatri, 25

When a song comes on, Gayatri cannot stay still. She gets up in the middle of folding clothes, lets her long henna-brown hair swing, and does a few steps right there on the floor of her room. Then she laughs at herself and sits back down as if nothing happened.

She is 25, Odia, born in Bhubaneswar, 5'8" tall, with a warm homely way about her. She talks in Odia, Hindi or English, whatever you like. Her days are simple: tea in a white mug, then a steel trunk of clothes to sort. She likes cotton salwar suits with a few thin gold bangles at her right wrist.
