Fake Agencies and Advance Payment Scams in Bhubaneswar — How to Stay Safe

A lot of men in Bhubaneswar lose money to fake agencies, and the story is almost always the same. They found a number online, saw beautiful photos, paid something in advance, and nobody came. Then the agency asked for more money, or stopped answering. This post explains how these scams work and how to spot one before you pay a single rupee.

"Pay ₹1,000 advance to confirm, the rest when she comes."
Scam. Once you pay, the girl is always "on the way" and never arrives.
"She is at your hotel gate. Pay ₹2,000 hotel entry charge and she will come up."
Scam. There is no girl at the gate. This is the second payment trick.
"Here are her latest photos. Pay her in cash when she is at your door."
Safe. Nothing is paid before you see her.
"Full service ₹2,000, model girl, only 10 minutes left for this price."
Scam. A very low price and a rush are bait to get an advance.
"Pay now or we tell your family. This is the police."
Scam. The threat is part of the same trick. Do not pay, and block the number.
How the scams usually go
- The advance. "Pay ₹1,000 to confirm." Once you pay, the girl never arrives.
- The second payment. A "verification amount" or "hotel entry charge" before she comes up. There is no girl.
- The very low price. "Full service ₹2,000, model girl." A real girl in Bhubaneswar costs far more. The low price is bait.
- Famous or foreign photos. Pictures of actresses and models taken from the internet. You can check a photo with a reverse image search on Google in a few seconds.
- The threat. Someone calls pretending to be police or a "manager" and threatens to tell your family. Do not pay, and block the number.
Signs you are talking to a fake agency
- They send a QR code or UPI number before anything else.
- They cannot tell you which area the girl is coming from or how long she will take.
- Every photo looks like a magazine shoot, and none of them look like a phone photo.
- They push you to decide fast.
What to do if it has already happened
